There is a small villiage below that picture called Zermatt. No gas driven cars, no pollution, the train is the only option to get there. Amazing. Incredible hiking, and year round snow if you ski or board. Simply an amazing place. If I were you, I might use that British Airways ticket to Geneva, Switzerland this summer, and make the trip to Zermatt from there.

alas, i am an abominable (get it?) skier.

it's possible that i might make an ok boarder given that i surf, but that's a maybe.

though, i'm a good hiker, yes. THAT i do well . . . or at least i have some really fabulous boots that make me look LIKE i'm a good hiker . . . a pair of very sweet zamberlans . . . word.

they don't have bears in switzerland, do they? i don't wanna get eaten whilst i'm trekking about alone in zermatt.
